Artist Statement

My work is grounded in a deep commitment to storytelling as a bridge between diverse voices and shared experiences. I believe every story has the power to transcend boundaries, whether it’s a novel, a spoken word piece, or an in-depth feature article. I draw inspiration from the resilience of everyday people and the complex layers of human identity—especially within communities that are often underrepresented. Through my writing, I strive to create spaces for dialogue, reflection, and understanding, inviting readers and listeners to journey with me beyond the surface. At the heart of my work lies a desire to contribute to a world where every story, especially those untold, finds its place in the collective narrative.

Artist Bio

Born and raised in the vibrant city of Boston, Massachusetts, I come from a household shaped by resilience, strength, and the unwavering love of a single mother. Life began with an extraordinary bond—being one of three, a triplet. My siblings and I navigated the complexities of growing up together, an experience that taught me early on about the beauty and challenges of close-knit relationships and the importance of both individuality and unity.

My formative years were spent in Boston, a city teeming with history, diversity, and a rich cultural landscape that fueled my curiosity and inspired my dreams. As a child, I often found solace in stories, both written and spoken. Boston's cultural and social dynamics became my playground, sparking an interest in how people’s lives and experiences intersect within a larger societal framework. I was drawn to narratives of resilience, community, and activism, which would later become central themes in my academic and professional pursuits.

In 2017, I began my academic journey at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, where I pursued a dual degree in Women's and Gender Studies and Communications/Rhetoric. My time at UMass Dartmouth proved transformative, as I immersed myself in subjects that allowed me to explore the intersections of gender, identity, power, and communication. I graduated in 2021, driven by a passion to amplify underrepresented voices and advocate for social justice. My studies deepened my understanding of both structural inequalities and the power of storytelling to foster empathy and change. Women’s and Gender Studies opened my eyes to the nuances of identity and intersectionality, while my studies in Communications and Rhetoric taught me how to craft messages that resonate, inform, and inspire.

After graduation, I committed myself to further developing my skills in the digital and media landscape, recognizing the growing importance of these tools in our connected world. I acquired several certifications, including a professional certification in Digital Marketing from the Digital Marketing Institute, which equipped me with modern skills to navigate today’s fast-paced, content-driven world. I view these certifications not as mere credentials, but as tools to help me bridge cultures, tell impactful stories, and reach broader audiences through digital platforms.

Today, I am on a journey to become an established writer and journalist, with a steadfast goal to build cultural bridges and promote understanding through my work. My experiences, both personal and academic, have instilled in me a profound respect for the power of words and the responsibility that comes with wielding them. I strive to create narratives that resonate, particularly within marginalized communities, and I am committed to using my voice to uplift those often left unheard. I dream of contributing to a world where stories from every corner and community are celebrated and valued, helping to create a more inclusive and empathetic society.
